20 gifts so good you'll want to keep them yourself

Are you not sure what to give your friends? Maybe you are doing Secret Santa and you got somebody who you don't know very well. Or, you have a lot of people to gift and you don't have the time to go shopping for hours. All these gift ideas are going to be for tweens and teens in your life that you want to let them know that you care.

1. Candles

This first one is pretty basic, but it's a classic gift idea. With all the scents and styles, everyone can enjoy it. I found these funny Introvert candles and this pressed flowers candle DIY.

2. Blanket

Another one with many options and is enjoyed by all. Who wouldn't want one more cozy blanket to snuggle up in? I myself have a lot; a sage green one, a fluffy sherpa one; a sequined mermaid tail, and a colorful quilt I made myself. And I use them all!

3. Hot cocoa set

This is one of my favorites. It's perfect if you want to make a gifted mug more special. All you need to do is add some hot chocolate mix, a candy cane, and a sweet note inside a mug and you are done! Or, if you know a favorite ingredient they use to make their hot chocolate, you can add that in.

4. Stationary

This is perfect for the artist in your life. You just need to make sure the don't already have it! If you're out of ideas, the Crayola Supertips are a great option.

5. Festive mask

A great option for somebody who isn't going to let quarantine ruin their holidays! I found a tutorial for a gorgeous red velvet mask or some other fun options.

6. Personalized jewelry

This is for the people who's gifts you really want to show that you care. You can get a pretty, customized piece of jewelry on a site like Etsy. It's also great for somebody that never finds their name on things at the store.

7. Soap + lotion

This combo is bound to be loved. I got this set a couple years ago, and used it until I couldn't get a single drop out. Plus, I smelled like cherry blossoms every time I used it! You can get these little sets at Bath and Body Works. You can pair this with some other self-care items too!

8. Perfume

Similar to the soap and lotion combo, this one makes you smell great while feeling very "grown-up". If you are gifting it to a younger child, make sure it's still playful and sweet. I found these perfumes (and this one) or you can go to a store to sniff them yourselves (perfume window shopping is pretty fun).

9. Self-care kit

You can buy a couple of these items, put it in a bag, and call it a day.

  • A silk pillowcase (good for your skin and hair!)

  • Face mask

  • Skin care

  • Lip scrub

  • A eye mask

  • Bath bombs

  • Self care journal

They became popular at the end of last year, and they're still a favorite. They are pretty and functional, what's more to love? Personally, I love the velvet ones because they hold my slippery hair, and the super huge ones, though I don't have the confidence to wear one.

11. A gardening kit

It was mentioned in the Sorry Girls' video, but I decided I'll give it a shoutout here. This might not be the best option for someone who lives in a colder area, so you might want to hold off on that. I know where I live, it's super cold. This is probably better for a spring birthday.

12. Sweat suit

These comfy sets let you stay warm and cozy all the time. It's a great option for all the cold, winter months, and all you want to do is bury yourself in a pile of blankets by the fireplace with hot chocolate and a good book.

13. Polaroid Camera

A great, kid friendly version of the camera, this one is bound to be the one thing that kid is showing off. Everyone one of my friends wouldn't say no to a Polaroid camera. And, they're not as expensive as an actual camera!

14. Lights

Whether it be fairy, salt, lantern, strip, box, night, or neon sign lights, this one is going to spice up their room.

Tip: I discovered this website while looking for ideas. It's called Uncommon Goods, and it's a site that sells, you guessed it, uncommon goods. All of the items are fun and unique. I suggest you check it out!

This one is super cute and not only for makeup. You can put stationary, hair accessories, and so much more in them.

A great counterpart to the make up case, this nail polish holder is a life saver for those who never have time. It's great for somebody who wants to put time into their appearance, but never has the time! I am actually considering buying one for myself because there has been so many times that I can't finish my nails in the house.

Clips

This pack of 20 clips gives you all the options to add flair to your hair. I recently bought a pack of 3 pearl clips and it was one of my best fall/winter investments.

18. Chunky knit pillow/ blanket

These chunky knit pillows are super soft and pretty. They are an easier version of the huge blankets all over social media. You can make them yourself with this tutorial, or buy them from a home decor store. Or, if you want to give it to a knitter, you can buy them the yarn to make it.

19. Legos

You can't go wrong with a Lego set. These are for all ages and are so popular for a reason - they're so much fun! I love building on my Lego collection and inventing new designs for the sets.

20. Poster

Posters come in all different colors, sizes, and images. You can buy them a poster of something they are interested in, like sports or music. I also got this idea of making a customized poster. You can put their name in the middle. and then surround it with images and text that describe them. It is a really thoughtful gift, so if you have the time, go try it out!

I hope his helped you get some ideas on what to give your friends. Remember, giving gifts is as much fun as receiving them. So, have fun gifting!
