Hello and welcome back to The Extravagant! Today I'm sharing all of the fall trends I'm loving. I'm not a huge autumn lover, but I have to agree that it has the best clothing. This was inspired by Laini Ozark, Alli Vera, and Susieola on YouTube, so go check them out. So, let's get started!
Satin low-rise maxi skirts
I went to Macy's a little while ago and found the most gorgeous skirt I've ever seen. It was sea blue, low-rise, long, and satin. It was 40 dollars, so obviously I didn't buy it, but I see it every time I close my eyes.
Distressed sweaters
Okay, so the quality of this picture is trash, but it lives in my mind rent-free anyways. The distressing is to die for!
Baker boy caps/berets
I've been loving different types of hats lately. At the top of my list has to be baker boy caps and berets. The classy, preppy style suits me better than other hat styles in the past, like beanies, bucket hats, and those fur caps.
Ties as scarves
Ties have been trending over the past couple months, but I never really found a style that I could imagine myself wearing. That is, until I found the ties-as-scarves scene. I've loved the skinny scarf look for a while, and this is a fun, creative way to do both!
Vests
Kind of similar to the previous two, I've been loving vests and waistcoats. In my 2022 trends post in the beginning of the year, I wasn't entirely sure. Now, I love them. Denim vests, like in the picture are great for spring and summer. Recently, I've been loving vests, unbuttoned, with a big blazer on top. I have my eye on the H&M one!
Asymmetrical hems
This picture is from the Ralph Lauren s/s 2002 collection, and I wish 2022 Ralph was still like this.
Miu Miu ballet flats
LOOK. AT. THESE. Miu Miu has been on a roll the past few seasons, but their ballet flats hold a special place in my heart. As a girl who's not quite at the age to wear chunky platforms, these are a great alternative.
Chunky/layered belts
The recent Diesel collect had a lot of thick, belt details, and now I'm finally getting on board. I probably won't participate in this trend, but it's a fun one.
Off-the-shoulder sweaters
I know for a fact that shoulder-cut and off-the-shoulder is going to be in. Just give it a few seasons. In the meantime, easing into it with one-shoulder sweaters and tee shirts is a great way to start. I'm infatuated by the pink sweater Susieola was wearing in her autumn trends video.
Legwarmers/long socks
This has been trending for a while, and I'm still loving it! I give StealTheSpotlight the credit of introducing them to me. I've been keeping my eye out for some long socks, too.
Ballet wrap skirt
This ballet-style wrap skirt is one of the few inherently-balletcore items I've gotten behind. I saw this one picture on Instagram of this girl on a stormy beach wearing a white leotard and a sheer skirt like this one. The vibes I got from that picture were just *chefs kiss*.
Detached sleeves and legs
This is such a random one, but I'm loving the detached look. The hardware embedded into it adds an edgy feel.
White slip dress
Ever since I saw a friend of mine wear a white mini slip with black sheer tights, I've been obsessed. But I admit that post I did on Tithe may have something to do with it.
Sheer
At the top of my list are long, straight cut dresses, ruffled socks, opera gloves, tights, and this pirate-esque blouse with a ruffled collar. A sheer piece with sequins sewn in would be a great holiday piece, too.
Plaid skirt
Preferably in dark blue or red tartan.
Pearl body jewelry
Really just pearls in general. I've especially been loving the organic-shaped, uncultured pearls in jewelry.
Black mini skort
I don't need a little black dress, but I do need a little black skort. It's really versatile and a great staple to have.
Black band tee
Pulling inspiration from the 2018-2019 era of fashion, this is another item on my wish-list. I think that era of fashion is just really comforting to me, and I don't really know why. Actually, scratch that, I do. It's when everything was fine and dandy, before I had this love-hate relationship with clothing.
Bloody pearl choker
Not really a trend, but still. It's the perfect combination of classy and grotesque, the look I want to embody for Halloween (more on that soon!).
Pastel puffer jackets
This is more of a winter item, but they were just to cute to resist putting in here. I don't always like puffer, but in this fun and sweet way, you can't ignore it.
That's it for this week! Comment down below what your favorite trend is, or something on my list that you aren't a fan of. Soon, I'll put up a post about my Halloween costume. It'll either be a tutorial or just a bunch of pictures, so stay tuned! Make sure to like, subscribe, and spread the word. See you soon!
