Hello and welcome back! A while ago I re-watched Ever After High and kind of fell down the rabbit hole (no pun intended). I'm still obsessed with the outfits of each character, so I thought, why not restyle them? Lisa Fevral's video was what really inspired me. Go check her out once you're done reading this. So let's get started!
Raven Queen
Of course, we're starting with Raven Queen. She's is the daughter of the Evil Queen, and despite choosing not to follow her destiny, she still dresses like her mother. She wears a lot of purple and black, with a ton of silver accents and accessories. I think dressing her traditional reds and blues would be such a cool look, and would show her entwined destiny with Apple better.
Some of the looks above would be perfect for Legacy Day, when she is dressed the part she's supposed to play. They are grand, but still realistic for a teenager. Especially with the dark lipstick and tights, it would really make her out to be something she's not.
The first dress is my take on her party dress. A cape and crown would have to be used to achieve the royal aura. The last two at a mini-length could be her everyday outfit. The second one is for the authentic mid-2010s feel, and the third is better for a modern a take.
She would definitely own one of the emo lock necklaces. It would be cool if before Legacy Day, she wears gold and afterwards, silver. Disney's Evil Queen wears gold but Raven wears silver, so it can symbolize her choosing to write her own destiny. I noticed she wore a lot of chains and body jewelry, so I picked out some shoulder chains to wear.
In the show, she wears this silver studded headband. Studs date her look, so the black crown would be a better choice. EAH's designers not playing into her royal heritage while creating her designs is such a missed opportunity. She could have looked like a super powerful dark magic user instead of a misunderstood fifteen year old.
Raven has black hair streaked purple and red in the show. This color would be great for her. She should have worn her hair up more. The Dragon Games proved that she looked fire with it.
Apple White
Apple White is the daughter of Snow White. She's the popular girl, but is also very well liked. Again, some blue would be the finishing touch to her design to show her ties with Snow White. They definitely took a lot of creative liberties when creating her. Somebody needs to make an edit of Apple with black hair!
The top of this dress put with a sold colored skirt with gold embroidery can be her everyday look. I actually found this on one of my Pinterest boards, so this is a friendly reminder to go follow me when you have a chance!
2018's Met Gala theme came to mind when I was thinking about what Apple should wear to formal events. Blake Lively, Priyanka Chopra, and Alek Wek all are great examples. My favorite would have to be Priyanka's look, since it could be worn by both Snow White and the Evil Queen for that ✨morally grey✨ vibe.
For the Dragon Games, she needs to wear something more active. I think these red fingerless gloves, ruby crown, and corset would be great with leather pants. Originally, I had a basic red corset here, but LOOK AT THIS CORSET!!! The sword and heart, the blue, the reflective material, it's all too much to bear.
I am not a fan of Apple's hair in the show. Her hair is long, blonde, and very curly. I decided to keep her blonde hair to make her resemble the show better, but cut the length. We have medium-long, medium-short, and short hair version. She's seen wearing typical fifties curlers several times, so I thought old Hollywood-inspired hair would be the better option. My favorite option would be Marilyn's, as it's the closest to the OG Snow White.
Ashlynn Ella
Ashlynn Ella is the daughter of Cinderella (Ash = Cinder). I like how they made her a nature lover and a shoe addict. However, her design is very confusing. She wears a lot of gold, florals, and sheer. I would've never have guessed that she is the daughter of Cinderella. She's was trying to be cottagecore before it actually existed. I'm sticking with a romantic, somewhat cottagecore theme.
I chose these 6 dresses. They are all from Selkie and I think these encompass her perfectly. I don't want them all to be blue, because each character should have their own twist on the aesthetic of their parent. I chose looks with pink, blue, and organic shapes.
For all of her parties, I chose these three dresses. The first one is closest to classic Cinderella, the second is closest Ashlynn, and the third one is a good mixture of both.
For the Dragon Games, she would have to wear clothes more suited for active work. This off-white corset would look amazing layered on top of some of the shorter Selkie dresses. Also, this butterfly earpiece is just so her. I think the top in the last picture is another good option.
Ashlynn has a unique hair color that only two other characters have. It's a strawberry copper, so she would have the coloring in the first picture. The other two pictures are hairstyles that I think she would wear.
Cerise Hood
Cerise is one of my favorite characters, costume-wise. She is the daughter of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, hence her sweet yet dark outfits. I don't get why everyone does the whole "Little Red and the Wolf fell in love" because I honestly don't like it. But that's a topic for another day!
Probably the most important part of her design is her hood. The first image would be good for the formal events. Since it's long and velvet, it doesn't match the everyday personality of Cerise. The second one is for day-to-day wear. It's pretty similar to what she wears in the show.
Underneath her cloak, she wears a plaid dress. I am OBSESSED with these Alexander McQueen dresses, and I bet she would, be too.
Since I went more goth with Raven, I decided to go punk on Cerise. She does have a more casual style in general, but what happens when she gets invited to a ball? These three dresses I picked out are very Cerise, in my opinion. We have the classic red, black leather, and silver elements without being too dressed up.
Cerise is one of the simpler ones when it comes to accessories. I chose this picnic basket for obvious reasons. The combat boots and silver chain are things I can see her wearing.
Without a doubt, Cerise's hair is the best part about her design. The two-toned look was way ahead of its time. Just go for her black and white look cut to just past the shoulder.
Briar Beauty
Briar Beauty, daughter of Sleeping Beauty, probably has the most relatability in the whole show. She's a risk-taker, fun-lover, but also has a personality. I like some parts of her design, but I'll switch out some of the 2010s elements.
Briar is very much a party girl, so I tried to keep that in mind while dressing her. She tends to go for shorter. more casual dresses for formal events. She doesn't play too much into her royal heritage, probably because she's secretly a rebel. Keeping all of this in mind, I found these dresses for her parties. The first two are Versache, which I think perfectly reflects her brand. The last one is better if you want to stick to her original design more. All of these dresses definitely need more accessorizing, but we'll get to that later.
I found these three dresses for her everyday look. Bluemarine seems like a brand that she would wear a lot of, so this rose-patterned dress is just perfect.
It's surprisingly hard to find dresses that are both short and fun, as well as fantasy-esque. I had to settle for modern outfits with fantasy accessories. To give her outfits a darker feel, this corset and glove set would be a great option. The capelet was chosen for some dark fantasy winter instead of part girl summer.
I really wanted to add thorn designs to the look because of the sheer amount of thorn and rose references in her design. I tried to find an anklet like the thorn necklace I found, but had to accept the thorn necklace. The diamond necklace/body jewelry is the ideal find for Briar Beauty. In her animated design, you can see this black necklace connected to rose shoulder pads. This is a much classier version of it. And lastly, the leaf armlet is a nice finishing touch. Ideally, it would be in the form of a silver anklet, but I have to work with what I've got.
Kind of unrelated, Briar Beauty seems like the type of girl who would dye her hair a new color every month. Douxfairy on Pinterest had the most gorgeous pink and brown hair, and I think Briar would be a fan. Even the short version of this would be great.
That's it for this week! Part two with the Wonderland kids (Lizzy Hearts, Madeline Hatter, Kitty Cheshire, Alistair and Bunny, Courtly Jester, and Darling Charming) will be coming soon. I love the restyling videos on YouTube and hadn't seen one for EAH in a while, so I just had to put my addition. Comment what you think of the outfits, and put your ideas down below! Make sure to like and subscribe, it really helps. See you soon!
